In December 2009, the first prize was awarded at the First China (Yixing) Zisha Original Patent Works Competition.
The artistic characteristic of the "Dragon Swimming in the Sea of Clouds Teapot" lies in the harmony between its shape and linear decoration. It utilizes the undulating changes and orderly arrangement of concave and convex lines to enrich the modeling effect. This type of composite line often appears on the shapes of ancient pottery and porcelain in China. The linear decoration starts from the lid, with a matching line joining the lid and mouth, transitioning to a concave line on the upper part of the pot shoulder, followed by a wide concave jade belt line on the shoulder. These lines continue to the four jade rib lines in the middle of the pot body, which pass through the circular hole at the spout and the large circular hole at the handle, resembling clouds swirling around the mountain and flowing back and forth. The variations in the thickness and spacing of these linear decorations evoke a sense of profoundness and lingering charm when admired. The knob of the pot is sculpted as a coiled dragon intertwined with numerous clouds, resting peacefully amidst the sea of clouds, as if about to burst forth from the clouds. The cloud patterns on the knob and the linear patterns on the pot body complement each other, forming a harmonious picture of a dragon soaring in the sky, about to bring blessings to the world.
