The "Leaping Carp Over the Dragon's Gate" teapot features dragon and carp motifs sculpted on the handle and knob. The combination of the carp and waves utilizes the dynamic nature of the waves to accentuate the "leaping" posture of the carp, its mouth wide open, tail flapping vigorously as it strives to jump over the dragon's gate.
A waistline etched in the middle of the teapot body creates a stair-like effect, with the upper part resembling the cascading waters of the dragon's gate, an artistic technique that enhances the overall ambiance and achieves harmony between the form and decoration.
In ancient Chinese mythology, a carp that jumps over the Dragon's Gate in the Yellow River transforms into a dragon. This symbolizes that any success requires diligent effort. Let us all strive together for a more fulfilling and happy life tomorrow!
